Accounts Payable Specialist

As we continue to grow, we are seeking to hire a dynamic and motivated Accounts Payable Specialist who will be responsible for performing accounting and clerical tasks related to efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions. The ideal candidate will review and process invoices and check requests, monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date, and resolve invoice discrepancies. • Manage AP Inbox
• Filter and route invoices to corresponding co for approval.
• Once invoices are approved for payment, prepare batches to be paid according to the corresponding accountant.
• Cut checks once batches are approved by accountants and posted for payment (check runs occur on a weekly basis)
• Publish analytics and provide check run summaries to management.
• Consolidate statements to make sure we’re up to date and there are no missing invoices.
• Contact vendors to request missing invoices, W-9, and COI forms.
• Download invoices from vendor websites.
• Keep track of bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly bills to make sure they’re not paid late.

• 5+ years of Accounts Payable experience is needed.
• Must have excellent Excel, Microsoft Office, and computer skills. 
• Experience in Large Volume Accounts Payable is a must.
• Lawson ERP experience is a plus.
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail
• Able to perform under strict deadlines.
• This position is FT in-person Bethesda offices : M-F
